Love Hits in 20 Straight Games Tuesday, May 14th , 2080 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today. Gary Love did it again, bashing 2 hits in the contest at The Burrow Presented By Frankie's Fun Bites. For the last 20 games in a row, the 23-year-old third baseman has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Amarillo Armadillos beat the Kansas City Hepcats, 7-6. "I'm happy I kept the streak going," Love told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Amarillo clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Gary Love grounded out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Jimothy Pitchet in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th and hit an RBI single in the 6th. Love has a .412 average and a .461 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 33 hits, 9 home runs and driven in 28 runs. |
