Johnson Hitless, Stopped by Bears Thursday, May 28th , 2071 Sydney Johnson saw his 23-game hitting streak wither and die today during the Kansas City Hepcats win over Brew City at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House. The 21-year-old right fielder was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Brew City Bears, but his teammates produced enough offense to take the game, 1-0. "Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Johnson told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 23 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good." So far this season Johnson has gotten 48 hits in 130 at-bats for a .369 batting average with 3 home runs. His stats include 23 RBIs and 17 runs scored. He has played in 30 games. |
