Nashville Sent Home with 5-1 Loss
The Death Valley Scorpions picked up a win at Cari Price Memorial Stadium, topping the Nashville Stars, 5-1. On the mound for Death Valley was right-hander Deviver Votto. He played a principal role in the triumph. The win puts Death Valley at 47-32 this season.

The Stars had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Scorpions going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 33-year old second baseman Literal Flamingo came to the plate. Flamingo hit a 2-run home run on a 2-2 fastball from Nashville hurler Zach Mulder. It was Flamingo's 5th home run of the year.

"Deviver pitched like a champ," said Death Valley manager .
