Loss to Voyagers Extends Buffalo Losing Streak
|
The New York Voyagers picked up a win at Vaughn's House, topping the Buffalo Surge, 5-4. On the mound for New York was left-hander Leonidas Longpipe. He played a principal role in the triumph. Longpipe picked up the win for New York, going 8.1 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. Kaitlyn Montreal earned save number 1 this season.
Brian Payne had a big solo home run for the Voyagers in the bottom of the seventh inning. With New York leading 4-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a screwball from Colby Koffman, who finished 2nd in the Legends in strikeouts with 207 in 2073, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Voyagers on top, 5-1.
"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager .
Buffalo, now 3-11, continues its tough start.
