The home crowd had a good time watching the Death Valley Scorpions and New York Voyagers get after it.
The New York Voyagers beat the Death Valley Scorpions by a score of 6-2. New York catcher Brian Payne deserved the lion's share of the credit. Payne went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Voyagers. DefinitelyNot EvilDictator, who is tied for 9th in the Legends in wins with 9, was the winner. He's now 9-7. The loser was Deviver Votto.
The Voyagers got a big hit from second baseman Adam-Cole Bay-Bay. Facing Death Valley pitcher Deviver Votto in the bottom of the fifth, Bay-Bay pounded a 2-run home run to left. His 9th home run of the season put the Voyagers ahead, 3-2.
Said losing manager : "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."
The Voyagers move to 51-34 with the win, while the Scorpions drop to 40-45.
