Buffalo and Boise duked it out and the Surge came out victorious.

The Buffalo Surge defeated the Boise Raptors, 8-5, at The Power House. Odin CheekiSon, who finished 2nd in the Champions in RBI with 89 last year, was a standout performer for Buffalo. His 3 hits included 1 single and 2 doubles -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 3 he knocked in. Ice Bear snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-1 on the season. George Georgeas suffered the loss. James Filtipaldi got the save, his 1st in 2 chances.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Surge grabbed the lead when CheekiSon hit his 22nd double of the season. The 2-run double off George Georgeas made it 6-5, Buffalo.

"Enjoyed this one," CheekiSon told the Buffalo Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

Boise has now lost 4 straight.
