Sea Serpents Lose Big to Scorpions, 11-1
The Death Valley Scorpions pasted the Seattle Sea Serpents with a convincing 11-1 defeat at The Aquadome. Xicoyotl Montalbán was a prime factor in the Death Valley win. He was 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. John Wittman, the winner, improved to 9-11. He held Seattle to 1 run on 4 hits over 6.2 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. The third-place Scorpions have won 6 straight games.

Death Valley designated hitter Sting Eucliffe contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 100th hit of the season and put the Scorpions ahead, 9-0.
