The bats were silent much of the day at Hammond Park. But 27-year old left fielder Romain Gauthier produced just enough offense to carry the Raptors past the Death Valley Scorpions, 3-2. Gauthier was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs. Justin Izzo, now 4-5, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 2.2 innings. Their 40-54 record puts the Raptors third in the Legends Conference West.

The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Gauthier hit a 2-run double off Guy Roussy. It propelled the Raptors into the lead, 2-0.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Boise manager .
