Katcher-Scudder Slugs 2 Home Runs, Vandals Beat Surge, 7-4
|
With catcher Gabriel Katcher-Scudder leading the charge, the Vancouver Vandals defeated the Buffalo Surge, 7-4, at The Scudder Forty-Three Stadium. Katcher-Scudder, who finished 4th in the Legends in triples with 5 in 2061, went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Commander Shepard picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-1. He struck out 4 in 6 innings. The Surge, now 5-11, continue their slow start.
Katcher-Scudder contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Vancouver in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 3-2, Katcher-Scudder took a fastball from Jerry Riggs and stroked the home run to right. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Vandals to leap in front, 4-3.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Katcher-Scudder told the Vancouver Gazette.
