Scorpions Win 3-2 Walk-Off
|
The Death Valley Scorpions walked off with a big win.
The Death Valley Scorpions took Detroit pitcher Hugh Mann's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. The final score had Death Valley getting past the Demons, 3-2. Mann went 8 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 11. For the Demons, the loss makes their record 6-11.
The Scorpions were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when left fielder Webster Rochka turned a 1-1 circle change from Frigg Delling into a 2-run single. The walk-off single electrified the Cari Price Memorial Stadium denizens and sent the Scorpions home with a thrilling 3-2 win.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Death Valley manager . "It's usually not just one thing."
