Cancun Tags Providence with 8-1 Defeat

The Cancun Toros bested the Providence Crabs, 8-1, at The Pot. Mengie Brolina was one of the standouts. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Ryan Lee earned the win for Cancun. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 3-0. Michael Dion II closed the door for Cancun, picking up his 3rd save of the year.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Feka Ohi Kau? The Cancun third baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put the Toros on top, 1-0. For the game, Ohi Kau had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager said.
The win brings the Toros to 12-8, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
