Shue Blasts Scorpions, Rougarous Take Game 1, 7-6
The New Orleans Rougarous started the Divisional Series in style today, winning on the road against the Death Valley Scorpions at Cari Price Memorial Stadium by a score of 7-6 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Rougarous shortstop Honk Shue excelled. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.

The outcome might have been different for New Orleans, had it not been for Jefferson Steelflex, the 34-year old center fielder . Steelflex stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put New Orleans up, 7-5. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Steelflex.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Cari Price Memorial Stadium in Providence.
