Road Win Lifts Nashville to 2-1 Lead in DS
|
The Nashville Stars moved to within one game of the Conference Finals, downing the Indianapolis Apex on the road at The Brickyard by a score of 2-1. Stars left-hander Tugg Boat had a strong outing. He threw 5.1 innings allowing 1 run. The win gives the Stars a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Divisional Series.
Nashville won the game in part because of Ford Lincoln-Mercury. The first baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Stars ahead, 2-1. For the game, Lincoln-Mercury had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"I was trying to do what I do, go out there and compete," said Boat.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Brickyard in Providence.
