Providence Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in DS
The Providence Crabs moved to within one game of the Conference Finals, downing the visiting Vancouver Vandals at The Pot by a score of 8-3. Crabs left-hander Count Crabula had a strong outing in which he threw 5.0 innings allowing 1 run. The win gives the Crabs a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Divisional Series.

One of the clutch hits for Providence came from one of their biggest talents. In the bottom of the seventh with one out, Seymour Baltz, who is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner, hit a grand slam home run to put the Crabs up, 8-1. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Providence skipper .

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Pot in Providence.
