Road Win Lifts Indianapolis to 1-0 Lead in CF
|
The Indianapolis Apex faced a tough opponent in Death Valley Scorpions pitcher Always A. Bummus, but did just enough to pull out a win in Game 1 of the Conference Finals, which they now lead 1-0. The Apex won 6-3 at Cari Price Memorial Stadium, despite the Scorpions getting a strong start from left-hander Bummus, who went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs.
With one out in the top of the seventh, Harry Callahan had a game-changing hit. The Apex third baseman slammed a 2-run single off Ray Xavier, making the score 6-3, Indianapolis.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Callahan told the Indianapolis Daily News.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Cari Price Memorial Stadium in Providence.
