Montalbán Hits 2 home runs in Scorpions Win
The Death Valley Scorpions defeated the New Orleans Rougarous, 5-2. Doing his part was third baseman Xicoyotl Montalbán, who went 4-4 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. Guy Roussy, the winner, improved to 4-0. He held the Rougarous to 2 runs on 5 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 10 and walking 1. Picking up the save was Bandit Keith, his 1st.

The Scorpions got a big at-bat from first baseman Ted Giannoulas. For the game, Giannoulas went 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Death Valley a 2-1 lead.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Death Valley manager .

With the win, the Scorpions have a record of 14-10.
