Cortez goes 3-for-4 to Fuel Toros Offense
Cancun shortstop Victor Cortez was instrumental in helping the Toros triumph, 8-1, over the Seattle Sea Serpents. Cortez went 3-4 with 3 doubles and a walk. He drove in 5 runs. The save went to Lizzie WOOOOHOOOO, his 6th this season. The last-place Sea Serpents have lost 4 consecutive games.

With Cancun leading 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Cortez came up to bat against Seattle pitcher Archie Richards. Cortez hit a fastball to left for a run-scoring double. His 11th double of the season put the Toros on top, 3-1.

"Feels good to get the job done," Cortez said after the game.
