Cancun Toros starter Usada Pekora was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Death Valley Scorpions, 5-3. Pekora picked up the win for Cancun, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-2. George Georgeas earned the save for Cancun, his 1st of the year.
With one out in the bottom of the first, Troy Murphy barreled up a changeup from Always A. Bummus. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Toros in front, 3-0.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Pekora.
With the win, Cancun pushed its record to 16-13.
