The New Orleans Rougarous withstood a fine game by Cancun left fielder Myles Meredith at Full Moon Stadium, to upend the Toros, 6-5. Meredith went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times. The Rougarous now have a record of 12-17 with the win over Cancun.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Axel Babineaux came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Cancun pitcher Lizzie WOOOOHOOOO, he hit a full count cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting New Orleans on top, 6-5.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Babineaux said.
