Pathfinders Wiggle Past Vancouver, 5-4
|
Vancouver got a decent performance from pitcher Andy Beans, but it wasn't enough to beat the Toronto Pathfinders. Toronto won the The Thunderdome contest, 5-4. Beans threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball for the losing team. Roomba Macintosh claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record stands at 2-0. The Pathfinders move to 12-28 with the win, while the Vandals drop to 25-15.
Toronto relied on the hitting of Beau Mathews to pick up the win. The third baseman ripped a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pathfinders on top, 5-4. For the game, Mathews had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Mathews.
