Stars Squelch Space Rangers Offense in Shutout Win
|
Nashville and Lunar Base duked it out and the Stars came out victorious.
Nashville pitcher Warren Peace had a large part in his team beating the Lunar Base Space Rangers, 3-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Peace, now 6-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Zachary Vega III finished to wrap up his 7th save.
The Stars got a big at-bat from third baseman Bobby Briggs. For the game, Briggs was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Nashville a 1-0 lead.
"That's how you're going to be successful," said Stars manager . "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
With the win over Lunar Base, the Stars improved to 26-15.
