The Cancun Toros beat the Detroit Demons, 5-4. Cancun pitcher and Morgantown, West Virginia, native John Cowgill led the way. Cancun has now won 13 in a row.

Cancun used the clutch hitting of Salvatore Bonpensiero to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Toros ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"Both teams played hard," said Cancun manager .
