Starting pitcher Guy Roussy fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Death Valley Scorpions stymie the Detroit Demons, 5-2. The winning pitcher was Roussy, now 6-2. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 9. Bandit Keith closed the game out for Death Valley, earning his 6th save.

Death Valley used a clutch at-bat from Literal Flamingo to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Scorpions ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Solid game, solid win tonight," said a smiling Flamingo.

The Scorpions raised their record to 26-19.
