The Cancun Toros racked up a win at Cari Price Memorial Stadium, bumping off the Death Valley Scorpions, 5-3. John Cowgill, who started for Cancun, pitched effectively for his team. Michael Dion II closed the door for Cancun, picking up his 5th save of the year. The Toros own a robust 30-17 mark.

Tyler Detherage, who is tied for 6th in the Champions in bases on balls with 28, helped out the Cancun cause in the top of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the second baseman was 1-4.

Cowgill told a Cancun Chronicle reporter he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
