Death Valley Scorpions starter Deviver Votto turned in a top-notch performance against the New Orleans Rougarous at Full Moon Stadium. The result was a win for the Scorpions, 3-1. The winner was Votto. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Brian Eshleman III. The win makes Death Valley 28-19.

Had Y'shtola Rhul not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Rhul hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Scorpions.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Rhul.
