Indianapolis Topples Lunar Base, 5-3
|
The Indianapolis Apex stopped the Lunar Base Space Rangers, 5-3, at The Brickyard. The Apex got a big game from Edward Mackinlay, who was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Reliever Skyler Stevens picked up the win. His record improves to 3-2. Cornelius George-Braxton, who is tied for 6th in the Champions in saves with 6, took the loss. The Space Rangers have now dropped 5 straight.
Indianapolis took a 4-3 lead on Leon Rosenthal's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Rosenthal hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Lunar Base pitcher Cornelius George-Braxton visibly frustrated.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Indianapolis manager .
