The Buffalo Surge picked up a win at The Island, dropping the Outer Banks Aviators, 4-2. Barto O'Colon, who is tied for 6th in the Legends in quality starts with 8, was the difference-maker. Paj Bobba, who finished 5th in the Legends in saves with 13 last year, earned the save for Buffalo. After today's action, Buffalo sits at 24-24; Outer Banks slips to 20-28.
Buffalo won the game in part because of Jazzy Thompson. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Surge ahead, 2-0. For the game, Thompson had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said O'Colon.
