Sea Serpents Squeeze By Nashville, 2-1
|
The Seattle Sea Serpents, behind a great outing from Mejiro McQueen, who finished 4th in the Champions in strikeouts with 194 in 2071, defeated the Nashville Stars, 2-1, at The Aquadome. The Sea Serpents improved their record to 36-14 with the win over Nashville.
Bandit Heeler, who is a two-time All-Star, took Nashville hurler Siegmeyer of Catarina deep in the bottom of the eighth. His solo home run put the Sea Serpents on top, 2-1. In all, Heeler had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.
"Mejiro was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Seattle manager .
