Vancouver 3-2 Losers to Scorpions

Death Valley Scorpions starter Cy Duck pitched well against the Vancouver Vandals at The Thunderdome, leading his team to a win, 3-2. Duck, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The win gives Death Valley a record of 2-5.
Death Valley used a timely hit from Slime Sluggerton to get the win. The center fielder stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Scorpions ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We take it day by day here," said Sluggerton, "and today was a good one for us."
