Vancouver Nets 5-4 Win Versus Rougarous
|
The Vancouver Vandals downed the New Orleans Rougarous, 5-4, at The Thunderdome. The Vandals were led by Ashton Lansdell. Lansdell was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Alejandro Abasi, now 5-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 2 innings. Vancouver is now 34-18, 12 games up in the Legends Conference West.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Lansdell hit a sinker from Tim Westbrook for a run-scoring single. The Vandals, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We ground out the win," said Lansdell. "That's all that matters."
