The Indianapolis Apex defeated the New Orleans Rougarous, 7-4. Right Fielder Edward Mackinlay deserved a large share of the credit. Mackinlay went 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs for the Apex. Indianapolis pitcher Chih-Wei Lee earned the win, hiking his record to 2-0. Takeda Takahashi suffered the loss. Indianapolis has now won 3 straight, while the Rougarous have lost 3 in a row.
Castro Valley, California-born Harry Callahan came through in the clutch. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded and the Apex trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single to left-center to put Indianapolis on top.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Callahan.
