Sea Serpents Deal Vandals 3-2 Defeat
|
The Seattle Sea Serpents knocked off the Vancouver Vandals, 3-2, in Champions Conference action at The Thunderdome. Seattle pitcher and Downey, California, native Talk O'Bell had an outstanding performance. The winner was O'Bell. He threw 6.2 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Thor Lore. Kip Treadwell was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 12 save opportunities.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Bandit Heeler? The 30-year old catcher Heeler stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Seattle up, 3-1. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Talk is good at sticking to his strengths," said Seattle manager .
The Sea Serpents improved to a lofty 42-18.
