The 2078 season did not get off to quite the start the Vancouver Vandals had hoped, with an opening day loss to the Toronto Pathfinders at The Thunderdome. The final score was 6-1. Starting Pitcher Mac N Cheese was the top performer for Toronto.

Toronto used a well-timed hit by Paddington Von Pippington to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Pathfinders ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"Feels good to get the job done," Von Pippington said after the game.
