The Indianapolis Apex had to overcome a fine effort from New York pitcher Professor Croakwell to win, 4-3, at The Brickyard. Croakwell went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. James Noble, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Indianapolis has won 8 straight, while New York has lost 4 in a row.

The decisive blow was delivered by Theodor Geisel in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off fireballing 6' 8" right-hander Big Rooster to win the game for Indianapolis. The home crowd went nuts.

After the game, Indianapolis manager applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
