Detroit got a terrific performance from pitcher Korrin Abernathy Jr., but it wasn't enough to beat the Cancun Toros. Cancun won the El Coliseo de los Toros contest, 4-3. Abernathy Jr. threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. After today's action, Cancun sits at 41-26; Detroit slips to 27-40.

Victor Cortez was the walk-off hero for Cancun. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Toros center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"This wasn't a good win," said Cortez. "It was a great win."
