Cari Price Memorial Stadium was host to some action-packed drama.

The Death Valley Scorpions relied on the hitting of left fielder Smalls to stop the Indianapolis Apex, 5-4. For the game, Smalls went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2. Richard Dick picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Takeda Takahashi was tagged with the loss.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With one out, Smalls hit a fastball from Takeda Takahashi for a solo home run. The Scorpions, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"I like our moxie," said Scorpions manager .

The Champions Conference West-leading Scorpions have a record of 47-21.
