Outer Banks Gets 5-2 Win
|
Another day, another victory for the red-hot Outer Banks Aviators.
Patrick Eshenbaugh knocked in 3 runs to help Outer Banks beat San Antonio, 5-2. The left fielder collected 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. Doc Holliday, the winner, goes to 6-11. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts over 6 innings. Mickey Martino was credited with the save for Outer Banks, his 7th of the season.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Rachel Morimura? The 27-year old first baseman Morimura stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put Outer Banks up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 2 doubles and 1 single.
"We're playing hard," said Morimura, "and we're playing to win."
The Aviators improved their record to 37-32 with the win over San Antonio.
