The Nashville Stars weathered an outstanding game by Detroit catcher Biff Slamous to topple the Demons, 7-5. Slamous was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. The Demons, now 36-34, have lost 5 in a row.

Richmond, Virginia-born J.C. Tomlin came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Stars trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Nashville on top.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Tomlin said after the game.
