New Orleans picked up a win at Cari Price Memorial Stadium, bumping off the Death Valley Scorpions, 5-0. Pitcher Maurice Bernard was a major reason the Rougarous emerged victorious. Bernard got the win, improving to 5-6. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. LeeLoo Dallas Multi-Pitch got the save, the 5th for him this season.

New Orleans won the game in part because of Malcolm Kell. The shortstop ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rougarous ahead, 2-0. For the game, Kell had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Kell.

The setback makes Death Valley 29-41.
