Bummus Schools New Orleans in 2-1 Death Valley Triumph
|
The Death Valley Scorpions received a superlative performance from starting pitcher Always A. Bummus, allowing them to bump off the New Orleans Rougarous, 2-1. Ray Xavier was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 9 of 10 save opportunities. The Death Valley winning streak has reached 3 games.
Bummus, the winner, is now 6-5, after putting the clamps on the New Orleans offense. In 8 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 4 hits, while collecting 9 Ks.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Bummus. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
