Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Death Valley Scorpions and New Orleans Rougarous.

Death Valley beat New Orleans on the strength of starter Guy Roussy's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Earning his 5th save of the year was Bandit Keith.

Daniel Plainview dealt the Rougarous a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Death Valley leading 3-2, Plainview, who is tied for 2nd in the Champions with a .423 on-base percentage, hit a 2-1 curveball for a run-scoring single.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Plainview.

The Scorpions have now won 6 straight.
