Voyagers Pull Off Thrilling 2-1 Win in Extras
|
The Treehouse hosted a real pitchers' duel.
The New York Voyagers earned a close win over the San Antonio Sloths, thanks in part to Joey Moose Jr.. The New York left-hander, who is a two-time All-Star, played a key role in the 10-inning, 2-1 victory. Ransom Jones got credit for the win, improving to 6-3. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Summuh Dog? The two-time Gold Glove Award winner Dog stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put New York up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Moose Jr..
New York goes to 49-24. The win puts them 11 games up in their division.
