Zalewski Excels, But Scorpions Win
Fans watched the Death Valley Scorpions and the Providence Crabs fight to the finish.

Providence got a terrific game from third baseman Paulo Zalewski. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Death Valley, 6-5. Zalewski hit 3 home runs. The winner was Lanky Schramm in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Iceman took the loss. Always A. Bummus, credited with the save, is now 12 for 12 in save opportunities.

Death Valley used the timely hitting of Stelle to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Scorpions on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Stelle.

With this game in the books, Death Valley is 36-39, Providence 46-29.
