Solo Leads Toros to 9-4 Win Over Pathfinders
|
With designated hitter Napoleon Solo leading the charge, the Cancun Toros defeated the Toronto Pathfinders, 9-4, at The Lodge. Solo, who is tied for 6th in the Champions with a .307 batting average, was 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Jihmih Beniko picked up the win, improving his season record to 11-4. He struck out 7 in 6.2 innings. With the win, Cancun has a record of 45-32. Toronto falls to 26-51.
Cancun won the game in part because of Scottie Stirling. The right fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Toros ahead, 2-0. For the game, Stirling had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
