The Death Valley Scorpions got a strong performance from pitcher Always A. Bummus, who stymied the Vancouver offense en route to a win, 3-0, at The Scudder Forty-Three Stadium. Getting the save was Ray Xavier, his 10th. The Scorpions improved to a lofty 54-23.
