Gauthier Leads Charge, Boise Blasts Aviators
The Boise Raptors easily defeated the Outer Banks Aviators, 13-3, at The Island, with right fielder Romain Gauthier a main contributor to the win. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 6 for Boise. Harold Smith earned the win for Boise. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 1. With the win, he raised his record to 2-0. The Aviators fall to 5-7 and continue their sputtering start to the 2078 season.

Beau Mathews had a big 2-run double for the Raptors in the top of the first inning. With Boise leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 25-year old left-handed pitcher Jiggs Kingman and swatted a double to center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Raptors ahead, 3-0.

"It feels good to get this one," Mathews told the Boise Chronicle.
