Indianapolis Tacks 4-1 Loss on Death Valley
|
Xavier Pruitt, who finished 2nd in the Champions in wins with 15 in 2071, had a strong outing for the Indianapolis Apex against the Death Valley Scorpions at The Brickyard. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-1 win. Pruitt picked up the win for Indianapolis, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. James Noble closed out the game, earning his 1st save.
Tied up with the Scorpions in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Apex got a boost from shortstop Dave Babipperson. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Babipperson saw a 2-1 fastball from John Wittman and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Indianapolis on top, 1-0.
Babipperson told a Indianapolis Today reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Scorpions, now 3-9, continue their sluggish start.
