The Nashville Stars did something to A Starting Pitcher no team had done for the last 26 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Aviators, who came away with the 3-1 victory at Gibson Soundstage.

"Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 31-year-old second baseman said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted."

This season, Pitcher has posted a batting average of .373 with 31 hits in 83 at-bats, 1 home run and 9 RBIs. He has also scored 20 runs, walked 4 times and compiled a .393 OBP.
