Crabstin d'Potson Latest PBE HOF Inductee Wednesday, January 3rd , 2080 Crabstin d'Potson was a giant among pitchers and retired at the age of 45. Today his baseball career culminated in the ultimate -- induction in the Pro Baseball Experience Hall of Fame. "My dad told me as a kid, 'To dream big and dream always'. That's something I never forgot. It's what got me here today at the Hall of Fame." One of his former teammates said when he introduced d'Potson to the audience, "I have never seen such dedication to perfection. Anything less than perfect and he was not happy." During his outstanding career d'Potson appeared in 505 games, struck out 1864 batters and walked 563 in 1751 innings of work. His lifetime won-lost record was 111 victories and 81 defeats. He had a 3.42 ERA, and opposing hitters batted .232 against him. Later d'Potson told the audience during his installation speech, "I'm not trying to be cocky, but I set such a high standard for myself. I wasn't happy when I pitched seven innings and gave up two runs and got a win." Dreams, dedication and strong desire combined with talent can get you to the Hall of Fame or wherever you want to go. Just ask the newest member of the Hall of Fame. d'Potson retired from baseball at the age of 34. |
