Dogwood Gets Call From Hall Wednesday, January 3rd , 2080 Thousands of fans braved the wind to watch and cheer as baseball's latest legend, Maple Dogwood, was inducted into the Pro Baseball Experience Hall of Fame today. With his 181 home runs, 1392 hits and lifetime .272 batting average, everyone knew the gifted left fielder belonged with the immortals of the game. Still, Dogwood remained humble. "I'm a very lucky person to be born with the skill to play baseball and through baseball I built a name for myself," said Dogwood. Now his career as a baseball player is complete. "This seals it," he said. "To get the recognition that every ballplayer seeks -- this is completion for me." Dogwood retired at 35 in 2068. He was inducted as a member of the Detroit Demons, earning votes from 100.0% of eligible voters. In his epic career he played in 1297 games and finished with 669 RBIs and 858 runs scored. |
