The Nashville Stars did just enough to sneak past the Death Valley Scorpions, 4-3, at Gibson Soundstage. Nashville pitcher Mac John, in particular, had a standout performance. The win has Nashville at 33-48.
The decisive blow was delivered by Palin Drome in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Zachary Vega III to win the game for Nashville. The home crowd went nuts.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," John told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
